The Vietnamese boat people are not only a problem for Hong Kong and other first asylum countries. It is also an issue that is to be solved together by the whole world, with brotherly love. Has the compassion of the world really reached the bottom line? Transforming their love into action, many Representatives of the U.S. Congress have expressed their concern, and urged the President of the United States and the United Nations to expand their awareness about the plight of the boat people. The human rights of the boat people should be respected, and a more desirable alternative for their resettlement should be reached.
Like a warm current in the cold of winter, this affirms that the torch
of love will never be extinguished and that the dark night of conscience
will eventually pass away!
