My Wish Has Been Fulfilled Soaring Into The Sky

My Wish Has Been Fulfilled

By Brother Initiate Xiaoyou, Taoyuan, Formosa

As a student, I had to be thrifty due to my financial situation. Whenever I saw Master's delicate and perfect artistic creations, newly published books or videotapes, I often regretted not being able to have them all. Usually, all that I could do was just linger where Her creations were displayed. All the while I have always hoped that whenever Master organizes any emergency relief, or charity sales of Her priceless belongings and personal items I would be able to offer my humble help. With God's ingenious arrangement and fellow initiates' loving care for me, I found a job thus ensuring I could gradually fulfill my wish.

During a recent charity sale of Master's personal items to raise money for the poor people in Formosa, I had more confidence to go there with fellow initiates to participate and I understood the importance of the project. I initially thought I would at least go there just to satisfy my longing, however, once there, I did not know where I got the courage to order a precious item that Master had used. At the time, it was such a spontaneous decision that I did not think at all where I would get the money to pay for it.

Later, when my year-end bonus was given to me, I realized where the money would come from, however, it was still not quite enough, so I didn't know what to do. Incredibly, on the day that I was supposed to pay for it, my boss gave me an additional allowance enabling me to have enough money and I felt extremely happy. I now know that the only thing that I needed to do was to have a simple intention, that is, wishing to participate in Master's work and help others.

Even though my mind kept denying the extent to which I could use my ability to help, Master ingeniously made my wish of devoting myself to others come true. Although my contribution was limited at that time, I felt very honored, rich, happy and joyful, and these feelings overflowed in my heart.

Through this personal experience, I have realized why Master wants us to always, in every thoughtful moment, look at the good side and think positively because changing ourselves is indeed changing the whole world. Now, I have both visible and invisible treasures with me. I do not feel at all that I have made any effort, because I know that everything that I have obtained is due to the grace of God. Thank You, Master!¡¹

Soaring Into The Sky

By Sister Ruth Tsai, Montreal, Canada (Originally In Chinese)

This poem was inspired by Master's story "The Roc and the Bird."

Before Your holy love descended,
I was confined to the cage so ingeniously contrived by Maya.
Day after day, year after year,
Trying to break free,
Only to suffer wounds and broken wings,
Upon which time You silently appeared
In the form of a little bird
To keep me company in this cold, lifeless cage.
You found me rare nectar,
And fed it to me, sip by sip, with loving tenderness.
When I was upset,
You hummed soothing, melodious tunes to my soul.
Bearing my criticisms, resistance, and suspicions,
You wiped Your tears away quietly, waiting patiently
For the day when I would recover,
And You would lead me high into the clouds
Back to Your eternal paradise.
