Lin has been a victim of chronic disease for years and as a result her
lungs have almost stopped functioning. Despite her intense agony, she
directs her love toward folding bright, colorful, and elegant paper
swans.
An
automobile accident left young Mr. Li paralyzed by spinal injuries,
but with each visit, Formosan initiates have found him to be more cheerful,
optimistic, and happy. He occasionally visits hospitals in his wheelchair
to bring cheer to victims with similar injuries.
