Q: If you want to progress faster, and doing more meditation will help that, how much more do you really have to do to
progress?
A: You should feel how much you can take, or how much you want to do. Also, it's not only the meditation; it's the heart, the commitment.
It's the devotion inside that says, "Oh! I really only want this." You long for it inside yourself, and that is a meditation. It's not just
the sitting.
Q: In daily life, how you deal with things and how you feel, can that help as well?
A: Yes, yes, yes: how you look at things, and how you let them go. We can talk forever, but each one has his or her own way of going to
God. Faster or slower, it's their own choice. You can't dictate to your heart what to do; neither can I. You just have it or don't have it.
One day you are tired, weary of the world, of the fakeness and the illusion. Then you just commit inside. And it doesn't matter how long
you sit, you are committed. You are with God all the time, inside your heart. That is true meditation. And that becomes very comfortable
for you. Then you know it; you know that you are devoted. Otherwise before, you try very hard to be devoted, but you're just trying. That's
the difference!

A: I just got very, very tense and just struggled, and struggled and struggled.
M: Struggled with what?
A: Just with meditating.
M: Okay. Don't make meditation a kind of work; it's just a relaxation time. Tell your mind it has nothing to do, and to just sit there
relaxing. And if you cannot sit too long, you can lie down and rest. Make it pleasant.
You can put a flower in front, and wear some nice clothes. Make it like a ceremony, if it feels good. That's why some people put out incense, flowers, and all of that, just to please the mind. Whatever it takes to make your meditation pleasant, you can do it. Have fun! Or maybe lie down and rest. Meanwhile, concentrate here (at the wisdom eye.)
Make it pleasant at first. Don't make it too hard for the mind, because he doesn't like it. He doesn't like working. And if
you're too serious, the mind will rebel, thinking, "I don't like that. I'd like to have fun; I'd like to go out; I'd like to have music or
coffee with friends. I don't want to sit here."
So just make it nice. Invite some good friends, initiates, to come to your house. Or come to their house, have coffee, chat first, or do
something together. And then sit together, as if it's a part of the game, part of the fun. That's in the beginning. Later, you get used to
it, and you don't need that game anymore. You can just sit anywhere and feel good.
First relax the mind. Most often, all of us are very hurried to become a Buddha, and that's why we have problems. We struggle between the soul and the brain. The soul wants to meditate; the brain wants to play. So we can reward it somehow, like after you have a good meditation, give yourself some of your favorite food. Take yourself out, or see your girlfriend; do something nice afterwards. So the brain will know, "Okay, that's good." Train the brain just like you train a dog. (Audience laughs) You know how to train a dog. When the dog does something good, then you give him a reward. That's how he becomes better and better. Our mind sometimes is a troublesome thing! If you really sometimes don't feel like meditating, then just leave it. Don't force yourself too much. Just do something else: running, or doing some exercise. And when you're tired, then you will like to sit down. And the mind will not make trouble. Actually, that is a problem when we are alone: Sometimes the mind tricks us a lot. And if we don't have someone to encourage us or to hold hands, we cannot continue so fast. That's why we need a teacher and friends, fellow initiates. Then we can talk out the problem with them, and sometimes they help.
So try to go to group meditation as often as you can. You can talk over problems with your fellow practitioners. Befriend them; invite them for coffee or tea to your house, and vice versa. Make it fun. And sometimes go out together; have fun. Go to the cinema and do something together, so that meditation will become part of friendship and fun. At first, for some people, it's necessary. You have to find out what your mind likes. And then give him a little; don't be too harsh on him.
Some people don't need it. They love to meditate, so it's easy. But even then, when we enter some stages of meditation, we sometimes get stuck there. We feel suddenly that we don't want to meditate anymore. We don't want anything like that. We've had enough with Buddhas (enlightened beings) and things like that. But it's just temporary. Then later, when you have friends, you read some spiritual books and listen to some spiritual tapes or even read some Buddhist scriptures-maybe that's going too far-but some contemporary books about life and death, about meditation, and about the experience of Heaven by other people. And then you will be somehow more stimulated to want to have the same experience. And so you will make more effort.
We have to find a way to do things that suits our pace of life, our style, our thinking, and also our habits. Habits are
hard to change. We should do it slowly, if we cannot do it fast.

A newly married couple quarreled for the first time after their wedding. As a result, nobody was going to cook; and the
wife didn't know how to cook, anyway. So, she began to cry. "Why are you crying?" her husband asked. "I want to go back to my mom's home,"
the wife replied.
"Fine! Let's go together, so we can both get something to eat," replied the husband.
A preschooler asked his mother, "Mom, tomorrow our teacher is going to ask who my father is. What should I say?" The mother said, "Just tell her that God is your father!"
The next day, the boy went to school, and the teacher asked him, "Who is your father?" Scratching his scalp, the boy could not find an answer to the question. The teacher asked again, "Who is your father?"
The child confessed, "I used to think that Mr. Smith was my father. But yesterday my mother told me that I am the son of another person, and I cannot remember his name!"
One morning, a boy named Tony was getting dressed in his bedroom preparing to go to school. His mother called out from the living room, "Remember to put on a pair of new socks!" Tony answered, "Yes, mom, I will put on a pair of new socks." His mother emphasized, "I mean that you should wear a new pair of socks every day!" Tony again answered, "Yes, mom, I will put on a new pair of socks every day."
A week later, he came out of the bedroom and said to his mother, "Mom, I cannot get my feet into my shoes anymore."
A pious believer was very serious in his spiritual cultivation. He went to church every Sunday and never missed a ceremony or a baptism. One day, he went to see the doctor. The doctor checked his pulse and gave him a thorough medical checkup, but failed to diagnose anything.
"You don't seem to be ill," the doctor said.
"If I were not ill, then why would I be here consulting you?" he asked.
"Do you indulge in unhealthy pleasures?" the doctor asked
"No! I have three meals a day, at regular hours and in a fixed quantity; I don't take an extra grain."
"Then have you been drinking too much? You'd better stop drinking!"
"Of course not! I don't even drink a drop of alcohol; I drink only plain water."
"Do you often work late? Do you know that working late is bad for your health?"
"Never! I turn in at half-past nine every night, and I get up at six in the morning. This is my daily routine, without the slightest
exception."
The doctor began to get confused. "Do you smoke or take drugs?"
"That is impossible! I get sick just seeing others smoke, let alone smoking tobacco myself!"
"Then do you indulge in carnal pleasure?" the doctor asked again.
"How can that be? I am still a bachelor, and I virtually do not know what a woman is." The doctor could not think of anything else, so he
gave it a last try. "Do you have a headache?"
"Yes, you are right! I have a severe headache, and no medicine can relieve my pain."
"But of course. The halo around your head is too tight!" the doctor said.

The residents of Ghana are religious, optimistic and happy, and local people, adult and children alike, often greet passersby in the street. The Ghana center is located in a village called Annya, about 12 km north of the capital city of Accra.
Fellow initiates in Ghana have practiced the Quan Yin Method for less than a year, but they had been seeking the Truth for more than twenty years. One of the local brothers told us that, even as a little boy, he had wept alone quietly in his room because God, whom he wanted so much to know, was nowhere to be found. As he grew up, his yearning for God also increased. Thus, he and a group of village friends who shared the same ideal formed a spiritual group to focus on spiritual learning and serve the local community. They gave their best effort where help was needed, either in sharing doctrines or building houses. They believed that they have to first serve God in order to know Hirm. In addition to offering their services to others, they also studied spiritual books, hoping to better know God. Thus did they persist in their quest for God. Though their efforts were not completely fruitless, they did not find peace of mind and contentment.
Then, one day a Ghanaian brother read Mark Chapter 4 of the New Testament, which describes how Jesus Christ used the parable of sowing seeds to edify the people. However, when His disciples asked in privacy the true meaning of this parable, Jesus told them. "Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God; but unto them that are without, all things are done in parables." Suddenly, it dawned on this brother that it is impossible to find the superior teachings in the scriptures, which was precisely what he needed--to know the mystery of the Heavenly Kingdom.
He shared this insight with his comrades, and they all agreed with him. They had spent twenty-five years in that spiritual group, yet they knew nothing about the mystery of the Heavenly Kingdom. So they started contacting other spiritual groups, seeking relevant information, and were ready to exhaust all means to learn the mystery of the Heavenly Kingdom.
Later, the Ghanaians found a group that taught light-and-sound meditation, but were told that they had to observe a pure vegetarian diet before they could learn the method. Having already wasted twenty-five years, they knew that they could not afford to waste any more time. Therefore, they started to follow a pure vegetarian diet and study materials related to the practice of the inner light and sound. During this time, they learned that a perfect Master should accept no offerings, be full of mercy and love, be capable of elevating disciples to a superior level, have innumerable manifestation bodies, and definitely impart the "Password" during the divine transmission. They did not know the details of the "Password," but learned from another light-and-sound group that a perfect Master ought to know this secret. (So, when they later read Supreme Master Ching Hai's publications and came to learn the Method, they specifically asked the Quan Yin messenger: "Does Master teach the 'Password' when She conducts the divine transmission?")
The spiritual practice group required that the vegetarian diet be observed for one full year before initiation could be received. When the Ghanaians finally met this requirement and requested initiation, they were told to wait another year. Thus, the Truth-aspirants became desperate and frustrated. Without the guidance of an Enlightened Master, the Heavenly Kingdom was extremely far away! Their yearning was reduced to anxiety and disappointment, yet they knew that they could not give up; they could only keep on waiting indefinitely.
Then, God finally responded to their sincerity. One day, in the library, they read Master's "The Key of Immediate Enlightenment III", and were amazed to find the answers that they had longed to know. They wrote to our headquarters, which asked them to contact our Togo Center about initiation information. But the eighteen Ghanaians were able to pool enough funds for only four of them to visit the Togo Center at one time. In this way, one after another, they all received initiation and began to follow Master. From the Togo Center, they obtained more of Master's publications. Of all the spiritual books that they have read, Master's teachings are the most appealing. One Ghanaian brother said that when he saw Master's photo, he was surprised to see such a young Master who was capable of elaborating on profound teachings so perfectly and in terms that were easy to understand. In no time, they finished reading all of Master's books in English.
Since practicing the Quan Yin Method with Master, they have begun to change spiritually, psychologically, and physically. Previously, they had thought of God as a supreme authority who punished people for their mistakes, and their fear made them feel alienated from God. Now they realize that God is within each of us, and that God is the infinite power of love.
These Ghanaian initiates, having engaged in voluntary work for many years, are not financially well-off. Thus, they could not initially afford to build a comfortable meditation center, and held group meditation sessions in a warehouse owned by one of the brothers. The place was crude and hot, yet the bliss of finding the Truth filled them with inner satisfaction. They even joined the monthly group meditation sessions at the Togo Center. Later, under Master's loving arrangement, the Togo Center helped them turn the location into a clean and comfortable group meditation center. They cleaned, tidied up, and whitewashed the warehouse, fixed the ceiling, and installed some fans; then the meditation hall was ready. Next to the hall, they added a book circulation office to share Master's teachings with other thirsty souls. The chaotic environment outside the house also received a thorough dressing up.
Now there is a simple sun shelter, a concrete path, and beautiful grass to cover the dusty earth, making the Ghana Center look attractive and hygienic. The nearby grove was cleared of the decayed leaves and garbage that had accumulated over the years, which were replaced by clean white sand. With a few colorful chairs and tables, it is now a wonderful spot to enjoy the gentle breeze under the shade of trees. The once unattractive and dirty grove has become a paradise for the initiates' children.
Recently, stirred by their bliss, the Ghanaian fellow practitioners wrote several spiritual songs featuring light and melodious music, and lyrics full of love and gratitude to Master. They wrote the following special song to wish a happy Mother's Day to Master, who brings them a kind of happiness and peace that they have never experienced before.

I thank you for being so kind and so good, for being saints in this needy world. I thank you so much for being so good all these years to yourselves, to the world and to me. Through your kindness, we have done a lot of God's assignments; we have helped our brothers and sisters around the world.
It's not the material things that are important; it is your unconditional love that goes with those gifts and the comfort you have offered to our needy brothers and sisters. And even though we know that they are not truly the "needies," it is good to know that we have love in such circumstances for such people. We all know that they are all God and God's children, and that no one ever needs anything from anyone, least of all from us.
It's just that they have manifested themselves as such, so that we can manifest our love. And for me to witness such unconditional love is always a great gift and a great privilege. I often think, "How do I deserve you, such beautiful people?" (Audience applauds) I know we do have, sometimes, a little personality conflict, due to backgrounds and habits. But these are just small things. The personality conflicts or the ego problems, these are just small, superficial things, compared to your greatness and your love, which you are realizing more and more every day.
And since you have come into the circle of sainthood, you have begun to realize how great a love you are capable of giving, how great you really are inside, and how much greater you can continue to present yourself. And this is all about finding God, finding the Kingdom of Heaven. It is you who are Heaven. It is you who are God. Even if God really exists as a person, Hes can only work through us to manifest Hiers love. So we are representing that love. We are representing God. So Every time we forget that, we should try to remember again. That's how we become great. That's how we realize God. There is no such thing as a God we can grab, we can hold, we can blame, we can pray to, except as that great love. And the more we manifest that love, the closer we are to Godhood. That is what God realization is all about.
So some of you ask me, "What is life?" and "Where is God?" in the beginning when you haven't completely understood. But I think many of you understand now. There's only one God inside us. All of us are the same one. And it's up to us to choose to show Hirm out, to present Hirm to the world and to ourselves, or not. There's no one else who can help us. Because you always think, "Oh, the Master must be good; the Master must be this and that so that I can follow him or her." No, no, don't follow any Master!
There's no Master. Since we are only one, there's no Master, no disciple. Just the one who walks a little bit in advance, or walks before to show the ones who walk later. But later is all the same. And so there is no other God, except the one that's within you.
That's why in the Bible it is said, "The Kingdom of God is within you," and, "You are the temple of God, and the Holy Spirit lives within you." That's the only truth there is. It doesn't matter how many sermons any Master preaches or how many long lectures we give, there is only one truth: that we have God within us. And it's up to each of us to choose to manifest Hirm. It's up to you to identify yourself with that source of wisdom, love and greatness. Do not let mundane problems or personality habits hinder you from remembering your true Self.
Every time you love someone unconditionally, every time you reach out from this greatness, it is your true Self who reaches out. And every time you do that, you expand your horizons, you expand your Self, and you become greater and greater. You don't become greater; you are already great. It's just that you make use of your greatness then.
It's no good if we have a big bank account and never withdraw from it. And then, with time, we might even forget that we have the money. Sometimes (now that I have to be independent), I go to the bank and withdraw some money. I feel so grateful to the teller, the one who gives me the money. Then later I think, "Wait a minute. It's my money!" (Laughter)
It's the same with us now. Whatever miracle appears in your life, whatever great event occurs to your favor, it's all yours in the beginning, and all yours all the time. But it's because you have forgotten it, you have forgotten how great you are, you have forgotten the treasure within you, that now you're grateful for every little favor that comes your way. It's okay to be grateful, but then remember that you always will have this. And the more you take it out, the more you realize how big a treasure you have.
So try to exercise this God love, this God power, and then you will realize you are really the Master, you are really God's children. There's nothing else except the glory, except the highest position in the universe, which is yours. Do not thank me; do not thank anyone except yourself for anything that happens in your life. Also, do not even blame anyone for anything bad that happens in your life. Because we are the ones who create all this, good or bad.
But please remember to create good things, so that we manifest Godhood on this planet and make it into Heaven. If we think negatively, act negatively or expect the negative, then we will get that. Because we are God, we have the power of calling forth into materialization anything that we want to have. Remember that.
So try to concentrate more in your meditation, harnessing this power again, so that you can call the whole universe into your command, and make anything possible for yourself and for the ones that you love. There is not much I can do to help you except to tell you this-that you are great. Please try to remember your greatness.
Every time you fail, every time you feel miserable, every time you feel let down or dragged into the cumbersome existence of the material world, try to pick yourself up and tell yourself again: "This is not real." The only real thing is positive; the only real thing is God; the only real thing is love. The only real thing is that whatever you want, you will get. And you will get all the good things, because that's what God wants us to have. "Knock and it shall be opened. Ask and it shall be given unto you." Do you think God tells lies? Why should Hes tell you that, if it is not true? Should Hes tell us that for fun? No, Hes wouldn't make a joke with our feelings, since Hes is God. So we'd better believe it. The thing is, our little faith does not allow us to believe things that are true. That is the only problem.
So we have to work around the mind and try to control our thinking. Every time you think negatively, just brush it aside and replace it immediately with the counter-thought, the positive one. Suppose you think, "Oh! I'm going to lose, I'm going to lose this business. I'm going to lose a hundred percent. All the odds are against me. I'm going to lose." Suppose you think that, then don't think it! Say, "No, no! I'm going to win. No matter what! I'm going to win." And even then if you don't win, will it cost you anything? Is it a better choice if you choose the negative and the pessimistic view? So you might just as well use the positive!
It doesn't cost you anything, and it might gain you something. You might not succeed the first time when you think positively, but we are in the process of training our minds to think positively. So even if you don't succeed the first time, do not give up. Next time, think positively again and again. At least you train yourself to think positively. And positive thinking always makes us feel good anyhow.
It's been scientifically proven that even if you smile falsely or reluctantly, still the cells in the body produce a happy mood. So why don't we think with a smile all the time, to command our whole body and being to produce this kind of happy mood for us. And then when a person is happy, he attracts good luck. Everybody knows that. So let's do that from this day on as a practice. Together with the Quan Yin power to support this positive thinking, we're going somewhere, all right? (Audience applauds)
Do not ever allow yourself to think anything negative again. Even if you have bad, bad, bad experiences repeatedly, do not allow it. But there is one thing: If you repeatedly have bad experiences in one circumstance, do not just stick there and say, "I'm going to change it into positive." After the tenth attempt, if it doesn't work, then change the whole thing. Throw it out, the whole situation; make a new one. Positive thinking doesn't mean that you stick in the mud, grow yourself in the wall, and think positive. You are stuck in there, saying, "I'm going to think positive. I'm going to get out of here. I'm thinking positive."
If you can't get out of there by thinking positive, knock the wall out and get out of the situation. So positive means, "Okay, if this doesn't work, it doesn't mean I'm a failure." That's all. "If this situation doesn't work, I'm going to make a new situation for myself; I will not waste my energy in this unfruitful project. I'm going to use my energy and invest it in a more fruitful way, in a more encouraging project, more logically-and it will bring results."
Because if you keep sticking in one situation, and you keep failing all the time, you will also lose your positive power of thinking. And that's the worst thing you can lose. It's okay to fail once now and again in a project, because sometimes it's not only our fault that things fail. Our associates or other people are also negative; they keep hindering us or affecting our thinking and our way of doing things. But if you keep failing and failing all the time, and you try to work through these people, then you will eventually also think that you are a failure and blame yourself, and lose this positive power. And this is bad.
So, after many attempts, if it doesn't work, you have to know when to stop and change. There's no need to try to move mountains all the time. When you say, "Oh, Master says I have to think positive. I'm not going to move until this mountain moves," then you sit there and move the mountain.
You have to know what is necessary to spend your energy on. Because there is also God's will; there are other things to do and nicer projects to spend energy on. We don't have to always stick in the mud, feeling that we have to do something until the end in order to feel successful. That is stubbornness-not positive thinking, but stubbornness.
So we have to sometimes sit down for a while. If something goes wrong, we have to sit down by ourselves and think, "Is this fruitful or not? Is it worth continuing?" If it's not, we have to have the courage and the wisdom to stop, and the positive thinking to start anew. And never give up after one failure.
It's also true with relationships. If really you try very hard and it doesn't work, then maybe you should set each other free, and do something more positive for the rest of your time. It does work eventually all the time, but it's up to you to invest your energy and time in one project or another, in one relationship or another.
But never give up on meditation! Even today if you don't see the Light, tomorrow you will. And even if you don't see the Light, it doesn't mean you do not see the Light. You might be slow, or maybe you are distracted. You didn't see the Light; maybe you're sleeping while you see the Light. Your wisdom eye sees it, but your mind is not aware of it. There is no one on this planet who is initiated into the Quan Yin Method who does not see the Light. That's what I know. (Audience applauds)
There is no such thing as, "I don't see the Light; I don't hear the Sound." I do not believe this. It's just some misunderstanding somewhere. You need to try. It's very easy to see the Light. You do not have to make an effort. Once the electric cord is plugged in, there is electricity. It's no problem. Or, you do it just sitting like this or sitting like what. (Master lies back in a humorous pose; audience laughs and applauds) You can do a head stand while you meditate. I don't care what position. You will, you do see the Light. (Audience applauds) All you need to do is just relax and let God take over. Do not rush Hirm. Do not keep a watch on Hirm. "I have already sat for half an hour, twenty minutes. Where are you?" (Laughter) Because as long as we are still preoccupied with our limited mind power, we do not reach the level beyond the mind. And that is why you miss out on the light.
Do not preoccupy yourself with anything, not even with waiting for the Light or waiting for the Sound-nothing. It will come. Just put your trust in the Master power, the God power, and say, "OK, you do it. I'll just sit here and wait." (Audience applauds) Don't even bother to say that. Just sit there and remember your enlightened center; that's all there is to do. And occasionally repeat one or two names. If you feel like you don't have enough Light or something, then you probably should wait until you feel your mind is more at rest. Mostly after vigorous exercise, or some diligent work, you can sit down, and you feel better. Because your mind is tired now and your body is also tired, with no struggle within. You just sit there, and you feel good, and the Light will come.
Even if it's not very bright in the beginning, you know there is something there. You know there's something different than the ordinary light, different than the view you normally see. There's something like a screen in front of you, and it feels so empty sometimes, like an empty room. And even if you put your fingers in front, you don't feel it. You thought you opened your eyes, but it's not true. Because when you do anything, you don't see it, and then you know. Even if you don't know, it's all right. You are guaranteed a seat to Heaven. Just do your job. (Audience applauds)
All you need is your sincerity, the longing in your heart. God knows everything else. And if Hes doesn't know, then we don't need to go to Heaven, right? Such a God, why would you go to Heaven to see such a stupid Guy? (Master and audience laugh) So if you do believe in God at all, then Hes knows, right? There's no need to panic, no need to even ask for anything. Jesus said, "Even before you ask, your Father already knows."
So anything Jesus promised is true, especially for the Quan Yin practitioners. I don't know about other people; I cannot guarantee for everyone. But whoever comes to us here, I can guarantee. (Audience applauds)
We should practice spiritually, otherwise it will be a great pity and we will be pathetic! Even if we become a king or a Brahma (lord) within the first three realms, nobody will save us or make us offerings after we die. We will leave empty-handed. At that time we will feel very frustrated, and lonely without company. Therefore, I feel sorry for those people who do not practice spiritually! Every time I think of them, I cry. Once they fall, it takes unthinkably long periods of time-trillions of years-before they can rise again. It is not that easy. And when they come up here again, they do not necessarily come in human form at once. Even if they do, they may not necessarily be able to hear the name of a Master, or find a Master who can offer them protection, love, care, guidance, and comfort, or hold their hands and pull them higher. It is not easy to find that kind of Master.
Those of us who practice the Quan Yin Method can leave when the time comes, even when we are sick. However, when we leave, we already have insurance and a place that we can depend on. We have the protection of an omnipotent insurance company (audience laughs and applauds). This is the safest way. Those who do not practice the Quan Yin Method leave in a flash. There is not enough time for God and the Saints to come and save them. Their souls do not have a place to depend on.
However, we who practice the Quan Yin Method feel very safe. Even if we fall ill, we need not be anxious. We know that there is no problem. Our souls are calm and peaceful. I do not know how to explain in words why we feel so at peace. Our minds do not know, but our wisdom does. Our souls know. We feel great. Therefore, even if we cannot avoid karmic retribution or fixed karma, we do have insurance. So we have no problem.
For example, when we drive, we know that we may have a traffic accident. Our car may be damaged. Hundreds of thousands of dollars may be gone in a flash, or we may sustain injuries. However, because we have insurance, we dare to drive, even cars worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. When accidents occur, the insurance company will make reimbursements, which are sometimes higher than the costs or losses incurred.
Our omnipotent Quan Yin insurance company is more powerful and beneficial than that! Hence, even if our "vehicle" breaks down, we are not afraid. After a while, we receive full compensation. We have another body, a better instrument, excellent clothing, a better residence, and a better world for us to enjoy. It is not that we have nothing when we lose this world. There is a better world waiting for us. That is why we feel very happy and safe. Our souls know. Inside they surely know.
Hence, it takes trillions of eons before we have a chance to become acquainted with the Quan Yin Method. If we do not cherish this opportunity, even God cannot save us when Hes comes. It is really like this!
We are representing love; we are representing God. So Every time we forget that,
we should try to remember again. That's how we become great. That's how we realize God.
God is the great Love. The more we manifest that love, the closer we are to Godhood. That is what God realization is all about.
Sometimes we come here with a very, very special choice. But by the time we come here, we've forgotten. So the special choice that we made in Heaven becomes like a hindrance or a burden during our life here. But actually, blessings come in many different ways and disguises. In English they say something like, "The strongest tree grows in the most unfriendly soil."
So we must not concentrate on the choice that we have made, or the so-called disadvantages that we think we have. Because, after all, everything is an illusion anyhow. Concentrate instead on what we want to make out of our life and what we have, instead of what we do not have. There are endless things that we do not have. But there are a lot of things we have that we know, and a lot of things that we have and we also don't know. So, we have a lot more to use.
When I was young, because I was very little, people teased me and I felt very bad. But then later, after a while, I met some other people who loved me because I was small. And I realized that the others were lousy. So actually, everything in this life has a purpose.
Sometimes before we came to this world we have chosen a harder way to practice. We say, "OK, I would like to be a shorter person, or a fatter person, or a very exceptionally tall person." Or, "I want to be a handicapped person, in order to pay for quicker progress in finding God, or to help other people to find God in the same situation as me, to help those people who are in the same position." But when we come here, we wear this human's brain, and then we begin to compare ourselves with other people. And we begin to feel complexity; we begin to feel that our choice is too disadvantageous now. But it's just the mind that thinks like that.
We are God, and when we go back to Heaven, or when we are really enlightened, it doesn't matter at all what we look like. We don't feel disturbed anymore. The main thing is to be enlightened, deeply enlightened, so that we can find Heaven right now and so we know that nothing is really us. Not even the outer beauty or the outer disadvantage is us. They are not us. They are just the clothes we wear.
So what's important is to be enlightened, not to be anything else. And everything else will come along.
