The problem with relating the term moderation with the eating of animals and animal products as well as things like alcohol, cigarettes and drugs is that these substances are harmful regardless of the amount a person consumes. The other problem with the term moderation is the definition of what moderation is varies from person to person. What one must look at is what is needed to support and promote good health. Alcohol, smoke, drugs, flesh, animal products do not promote health and are absolutely not required by the human body.
The majority of the metropolis believes the propaganda that the industries of these products spew out all over the media. The majority also never question the ways of their parents, educators, or leaders. Regardless of rather or not you care to investigate the issues, I will tell you that there is much more to it then we were ever told. You will rarely learn the truth in the conventional ways of our culture.
It may seem normal that people eat the dead bodies of animals because the majority of people do, but it also seemed normal for the white culture to hold blacks as slaves at one time, (that is it seemed normal to the white people not necessarily the blacks). Just because a society deems something acceptable and legal does not mean it is morally correct or is the highest truth as it pertains to the subject at hand. When it comes to the killing and consuming of animals, there are many people who are waking up to the fact that it is just legalized murder.
Your parents, educators, and heros continue to die of degenerative diseases and again we just accept this as being normal because it is happening all around us. These are the same people that believe there is no harm in eating animals, yet it is killing them, slowly. There is a better way and I am one of the people here at this time on the earth to help lead the way. We must not look at where we have come from but where we are going. This does not mean where your life is personally, but where we are as a people. We are suppose to be the spiritual stewards of this planet. We have a born responsibility to continue the evolution of our species, and more importantly the evolution of the planet and all the life forms. What is really happening though is that species extinction rates are at an all time high and continue to rise dramatically each year.
I believe the main reason the majority of people never see or understand this duty is because they are kept so distracted by things like television and of course we are kept closely glued to many traditions of our culture. How difficult it is to defy the culture one was raised in. In the American culture we have holidays that surround the ritual of eating animals. Almost every holiday we pretend to celebrate life by frying, cooking, or barbecuing death. We take death into our bodies because we believe the myth that in the death of that animal there will be life resurrected in us. The truth of the matter is that it never happens. What does happen is that we clog our arteries, cause much strain on our digestive system, and we set up our bodies for a list of diseases in the future and of course the immediate risks of e-coli poisoning and other bacterial dangers of animal foods. We clearly create our own hell by contributing to the hell of other beings. It is really divine justice at work.
Life comes from life and death comes from death. The equation is simple, the more you let live the more you will live. I will not deny that we feed off life on some level regardless of what we consume, but that is the difference, to live off live things and not dead ones. This goes for fruits and veggies too. The more you cook and process them the deader they are and the faster you too will be dead.. or feel dead "tired." That is why I eat mostly "LIVE" food and have never felt better in my entire life! Think about it, we are the only animal that cooks and processes the food we eat. No wonder we get diseases, and free roaming animals that are not influenced by humans do not.
I have studied different cultures and found out something amazing in the process. A culture is in reality, nothing more than a cult. All culture is cult. Think about it, what makes up a culture? It is mainly the practices and traditions of that people. Well, in some cult-tures people eat each other and in others they eat animals we have as pets. Throughout history we have looked back on the ways of different cultures and have been appalled at some of the things that these various people found acceptable. I say there will be a day when people look back and find the mass murdering and consuming of animals as disgusting and barbaric. I already hold this view.
The sad reality is that humans are currently like a disease that is spreading rapidly, destroying any life in the name of so called progress. I think all of us have a vision somewhere in our minds of a garden of Eden. The truth is it never existed, although it could if enough people were to understand the sacredness of all life. We suffer a great deal not only physically but on a spiritual level as well. We have a hard time seeing how we are connected to each other, the animals and nature when we alienate ourselves with violence and death. The other sad reality is that the only time in the day the majority of people connect with nature or animals is when they are lying dead there on their plates. We, as a society spend more time with the dead animals we consume then any live animals in our day to day lives. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are the main times in the day when we are with the animals. Somehow in the crazy fast pace reality we live in, we attempt to reconnect with animals by eating them. We do not see the sacredness of that cow, pig, chicken or other animal once the various animal parts are sliced up and put there in front of us to consume. However, if you had the time and opportunity to be with these animals while they were still living, breathing beings with off spring and purpose, you would see that they do not look anymore like food to you then your next door neighbor.
I can say that before I became aware of these things I had a great wall of denial built up that kept be from even wanting to be around the animals I ate. After I stopped eating animals I suddenly got interested in meeting my victims. I found them all to be very worthy of life and all are very fascinating. I found that I was never able to appreciate the independent qualities of these beings to the degree that I have now until I stopped contributing to their demise. The guilt is there in all of us, buried deeper in some than others, but it is there.
The one animal that I ate the most I found to be the most remarkable, the turkey. Spend some time with your food before it is dead and you too might see some interesting things. I would not eat that animal's kind for at least two weeks before I plan to spend time with that animal so that my wall of guilt comes down a bit and would allow me to be open more to the sacredness of that animal. The truth is that we have absolutely no requirement for the flesh of animals and there is no such thing as cow flesh or chicken flesh deficiency. People will never stop the violence against each other until they stop the violence against the other living beings of this planet.
How arrogant of us to think we are the most important reality of this world, and to think we can just pave over the land, crush the bugs in our path, eat the animals that we don't even have the courage to kill ourselves and most wouldn't. Why?, because it is not in our natural instinct to spread bloodshed, yet it is very difficult to feel reverence for any life while we walk around with the body parts of tortured, murdered beings in our bodies. It is hard to see the truth when you are caught up in the lie. Even if you can't assimilate what I am saying, think about your daily activities. Unless you are a serial killer or hunter, you more than likely live a fairly non-violent existence . It is more in our natural, instinctive ways to be compassionate, caring, and loving toward life then to be cruel, barbaric, or insensitive. It is our natural, gentle destiny to extend our reverence for life to all life and not to expect others to do the killing that we ourselves would not do.
Regardless of what some people may say about veg*ans/animal rightists, the truth is that most veg*ans care not only about animals but veg*ans care about people as well. I wouldn't do what I am doing if I was not helping people with their health. Yes, there are a small amount of animal rights people that cause vandalism to businesses who exploit and kill animals. And sometimes it is necessary in order to get the attention of the media and the people. But in the long run, I do not believe violence solves anything. It is only through love, education, and understanding that people really become open to change.
Animal exploitation and killing is a major part of the human economic and social greed disease. Too bad that it comes down the the un-mighty dollar, especially when money alone will never bring peace or happiness in a persons life. But we can turn it around. How? Well, in a system that is based more in economics than social moral, your best vote is where you are spending your dollar. Is the dollar that comes from your hand supporting cruelty and a lie, or is it supporting truth and love in it's highest form? Think about that dollar as a vote everytime you hand it over. Think about rather or not you would personally be willing to take full responsibility for what you are purchasing. Keep the the green clean and free from red. Also, be vocal about what you learn. Help others see the light.
I am honestly a very caring individual who wants to see people live healthier, happier lives. I have seen the pain and death on both sides of the fence. I have seen the suffering in the hospitals, I have seen the suffering in the slaughterhouses and there is no question they are connected. What we are clearly suffering from is not just a nutritional misnomer, no, I'd have to diagnose it as a lack of love, understanding, compassion, and most of all not listening to our deepest inner voices. Don't take my word for it though, investigate the issues for yourself. In fact don't believe me or anyone about anything, you must search it out for yourself. If you are interested and have the courage I give you a place to start. Read the book, "Diet For A New America," by John Robbins.
Take a break from television, movies, and other distractions that are keeping you asleep and programmed. Stop poisoning yourself with animal products, alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs. Get out in nature, eat some healthy food, drink clean water and see if you do not feel better on every level.
Now is the time for all humans to stop killing each other and the animals. Peace on earth will prevail. We must learn reverence for all life and the sacredness and purpose of all the living things. Every moment of LIFE is precious and a gift. Treat it and yourself kindly.
